Prompt roof repairs in Edmonton are a must for preventing further damage and saving money, but if you don’t know what can damage your roof, it might not be obvious that you need to get it repaired. At Sargeant’s Roofing, we know how important it is to get your roof repaired as soon as possible, and that’s why we went over some of the biggest threats to your roof in our last blog. Here are a couple more roof threats to watch out for:

#7. Animals

Woodpeckers, mice, nesting birds, squirrels and raccoons can all damage your roof. For example, in their search for insects, woodpeckers have been known to tear apart shingles, while raccoons commonly rip off vent covers and shingles so that they can enter your home to get away from the elements. Animals can cause a lot of damage, so keep an eye out so that the problem can be addressed quickly.

#8. Tree Debris

In our previous blog, we talked about how falling limbs are a threat to your roof, but that isn’t the only threat trees pose. Leaves, sticks and pine needles can form a mulch on your roof if they are not cleaned off regularly. This mulch can hold in moisture, which can cause the shingles to rot and deteriorate.

If you think that your roof has been damaged because of any of the threats we’ve covered, please contact us at Sargeant’s Roofing today.
